Description:

Akula,

My first and only IceWM theme. (or any theme at all for that matter)

Themes.org rejected it, but it works on my computer and I don't see any complaints so far.

I took elements from a few different themes and made my own theme for my desktop just to prove that I could do it. Hope you like it.

Comments are appreciated, maybe I'll do another when I have time.

Teto

The theme is named for a type of Russian nuclear submarine.

Fixed the widgets - they no longer move up/down when clicking on them, and removes the last few artifacts I kept finding. Maybe I can get a few more percentage points on the aproval chart :)

Fixed mispelling.

04/23/2003 - No time to continue, it's already been over a year, so I've GPLed all my themes. Download it and check it out!

I like this WinDec alot! Thanks.

Any chance of doing this without the colored buttons? Maybe a metallic look to them to match all the sci-fi themes and backgrounds us *nix geeks so enjoy?

I hate the new design, the servers are slow, 505 erros everywhere...

Why doesn't KDE-Look.org use their engine and create a Linux-Look.org and toast themes.org?

I bet, this would be no problem.

I aggree, themes.org is a dead man walking. It hasn't been the same since it was hacked. KDE-look.org outclasses it by a mile.

True, but themes.org is the biggest not-just-for-KDE theming site around.

Now, why they couldn't just fix their old security problems is beyond me.

I'm betting we'll see more sites like KDE-Look.org pop up now that themes.org is going downhill...

telling themes.org to "fix their old security problems" is a little oversimplistic, if not insulting to those working at the site.

many of the themes and resources on the site made use of scripts (sawfish scripts) and binaries that needed to be compiled (some gtk theme engines).
fixing the site required a complete audit of all the themes such as these to make sure there were no backdoors put into the sources.

nearly all of those themes that didn't involve some kind of code or scripts were put up within a very short time. blackbox, afterstep, gnustep, enlightenment, etc. had their themes put back up quickly

that being said, i do think that themes.org dropped the ball by having each theme/resource/skin reviewed by a themes.org official. this slows down the building of the site, not to mention the fact that some of the reviewers "just dont get it" i've seen great reviews on themes that were awful to look at, werent functional, or were complete rips of previous works. hopefully they'll change it to some kind of voting scheme like kde-look
