Wow, big thanks for the replying and such a nice reply (helpful too!). I did it but when I do it some of the sides get a bit messy. I thought about making it transparent so it would fit a bit more to my panel but I realized that this theme is perfect. I would just spoil it. All your themes are great and I really hope you keep creating such remarkable stuff. Excellent! Will you ever do some more icon themes? Sth like Google type?
Hi Firm, Sorry for the delay in replying. I'm sure that if you keep experimenting you will get a version that fits your needs. That's the thing with themes, you have to keep playing around with them until you get it just right. I do hope to make some more icon themes, but they take a lot of time to make - not as easy as the emerald and metacity themes. They are difficult to keep the file size down too as they contain so many images. The googol icons will basically be a recoloured version of the ice icons, but at the moment I can't find a quick way of recolouring them without having to do each file individually! I'm sure there must be a quick way. Anyway, I will try to get something done as soon as possible. Thanks for the comments! DAZ
It's a wonderful theme, truly one of the best but I was wondering...is is it possible you could make the whole white section transparent? So what we get is a transparent border with three (or four if you count the one on the left) circles just like they are now. With the inside of them transparent as well? Thanks for this theme cause it's truly magnificent.
Thanks for the kind words firm! To make the white parts totally transparent, why not try editing it? Go to System > Emerald Theme Manager, select the googol theme, then click on the edit themes button. Select the 'Theme Engine' tab, then select vruner. The first three options (left blend, middle blend and right blend) then just need changing to transparent by sliding the opacity slider down to zero. You could then release this on Gnome-look as a variant theme! Hope that helps - let me know how you get on! DAZ
When you can release the icon theme and the tools name as the dock used?
Icon theme should be ready in a few weeks - it's taken a bit longer than I though, sorry. The dock is Cairo Dock (get it here - http://developer.berlios.de/projects/cairo-dock/) DAZ
Mega super idea.
Cheers! DAZ
Just wanted to let you know you should slow down and take your time making those icons so that they're PERFECT. I want to see the final result and decide for myself whether I actually want to use this theme!
Don't worry, I'll try to get the icons right (not sure if they'll be 'perfect', but I'll do my best!). Most of them are finished, but it takes quite a bit of time resizing them all and then matching all the name conventions. DAZ
I love this theme! For my personal use I made the shadow without an offset and a fraction darker and bigger. I've used sea modded forever and never found anything that could beat it. Until now. I love this theme
Thanks for the positive feedback - it's great to here that you like the theme. If you could send me a copy of your modded version that would be great as your ideas might look better and (with your permission) could be integrated into the main theme. cheers, DAZ
wow very nicely done..keep on the good work
Thanks for the kind words. I will definitely keep working on different themes - icons to go with this theme are my next plan. DAZ
I was totally going to suggest that you make icons! Although I use the theme I uploaded onto this website, I really like yours and would consider trying it. It's simple, but it's simplicity is stylish. Why the hell hasn't someone come up with this before? :D
I couldn't believe there wasn't something to do with Google on here either - especially when all the 'Google OS' rumours start. Icons are taking a bit longer to put together but should be finished later this week. DAZ
yep, keep up the not vistaish, not macosXish themes
Thanks. There definitely needs to be more high-quality themes that are not just copies of Vista and OSX - and it would be even better if these themes were the highest rated and most downloaded. DAZ
A good surprise, google on emerald. I like, simple and smooth, kee working on it and why not making a gtk set?
Thanks! This should be finished now apart from the odd tweak here and there. I do plan to make some GTK icons with a similar look and feel. DAZ
It seem a very very very good work! Nice, clean, simple. Definitely i like! :)
Thanks! I definitely prefer clean and simple themes. DAZ
Voted good even though I'm not using compiz right now. Please someone port this to deKorator??
Thanks for the vote. I don't use KDE, but what do you need for a dekorator theme? I could provide any of the button artwork and colour scheme if somebody wanted to do this... DAZ
